FiberCare

Not True!  Dirt is abrasive (just like sand paper).  Every time you step on your
carpet, you grind dirt against and into the fibers.  This cuts away at the fibers just
as if you had used a knife.  (Open up a vacuum bag and see if you are loosing
carpet fibers)

A dirty carpet won’t last as long as a clean carpet.  And while vacuuming helps,
by itself it’s simply not enough.  The longer you wait to have your carpet cleaned,
the more damage you do to your carpet and the faster you will have to replace it.

MISCONCEPTION #2: THE ONLY REASON TO CLEAN CARPETS IS TO
REMOVE SPOTS.

NO!  As you probably know, outdoor air contains pollens, fungus, bacteria,
cigarette smoke, car exhaust, and hundred of other chemicals.  When you come
inside your home, you bring those pollens, bacteria, and chemicals with you in
your hair, on you clothes, skin, and shoes.  Not surprisingly, all of those toxins
end up in your carpet.

Because all of these toxins are now inside, the EPA ranks Indoor Air Pollution
among the top five environmental risks to human health.  EPA studies show
pollutants may be 3 to 5 times higher indoors than out.

If you have allergies, asthma, emphysema, or other breathing problems –one
major source of your problem could be in your carpet.  If you have children or
grandchildren, remember, the soft, carpeted floor is their favorite place to play.

MISCONCEPTION #3:  ONE METHOD CLEANS AS JUST AS WELL AS
ANOTHER.

I’m afraid not!  “Dry” methods (I’ll explain the different methods in a moment) do
not rinse your carpet in any way.  Instead, they leave a dirty residue.  You might
say they clean half way.  The most effective deep cleaning method is hot water
extraction.

Hot water extraction means a hot water cleaning solution, under high pressure is
forced into the carpet and then sucked out of the carpet.  There are even
different types of hot water extraction.

Some hot water extraction units operate from a van or truck and are referred to
as truck-mounts.  Other units can be brought into the building or home and are
called portable.  The truck-mount unit is more powerful and able to clean deeper,
more thoroughly, and higher temperatures when needed.

MISCONCEPTION # 4:  HAVING THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT MAKES ONE A
PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANER.

Now  we know that’s untrue with any profession.  Anyone can buy a machine. It
takes time, effort, and dedication to learn how to use the machine correctly. A
company should be very diligent in training their employees.

It’s important that you choose your carpet cleaner carefully.

MISCONCEPTION #5:  THE COMPANY THAT OFFERS THE LOWEST PRICE IS
THE COMPANY THAT YOU SHOULD HIRE.

No! I’ve seen too many problems arise from lowest-bid companies. I suggest
NEVER hire the company that offers the cheapest price.  The two most common
problems are...

1) The price may not be for the services that you want.  The company may only
remove the surface dirt or worse leave you carpet in a state that allows your
carpet to get dirty again very quickly.

2) The price you see advertised may not be the price you pay.  Many people
have found that once the carpet cleaner got into their home, they were
pressured into paying a lot more for add-ons that probably should have been
included.

MISCONCEPTION #6: ANY HONEST CARPET CLEANING COMPANY SHOULD
BE ABLE TO GIVE AN EXACT PRICE OVER THE PHONE.

I wish that were true, but it isn’t.

Honest, reputable carpet cleaning companies are almost never able to price
simply by the room.  Every home or business is different so price has to be
determined by four criteria.

First, the amount of carpet being cleaned.

Second, the type of the carpet.  Certain types of carpet are harder to clean than
others.

Third, the amount of soiling.  Carpet that hasn’t been cleaned in years will take
longer to clean than carpet that was cleaned in the last six months.

Fourth, the amount of furniture we have to move.  We don’t mind moving
furniture,
but the price can be lower if we there is not that much to move.
