say. On their web site www.greatfloors.com , Shaw Industries says “Avoid rental
units found in many retail and grocery stores that do not have enough power to
extract the cleaning solution from the carpet adequately and which may actually
damage the carpet due to over wetting”.
As for the Bonnet cleaning systems: “Shaw does not recommend this cleaning
system. The bonnet system has very limited capability for soil removal and
leaves much of the detergent in the (carpet) pile since it employs no real
extraction.”
We also read that “Shaw Industries recommends the hot water extraction system,
which research indicates provides the best capability for cleaning” They further
explain: “this can be done from a truck mounted unit outside the home with only
the hose and wand brought inside or, where a truck mounted unit cannot reach,
by portable, self contained system brought in the home.”
As you can see, Shaw recommends the truck mounted unit first, which isn’t
surprising. You see the truck mount heats to a higher temperature, uses higher
pressure to loosen the dirt, and generates a much greater vacuum to draw the
dirt and scum out of your carpet. This is the method we use.
No question, the most effective way to clean carpeting is with a hot water extractor
mounted in a truck. It’s the most powerful carpet cleaning machine on the market
and the only machine that rids your carpet of dirt, harmful bacteria, fungus,
pollens, chemicals, critters, etc……. It is also recommended that your carpet
should be cleaned at least once a year.
